Malin belives that his involvement with professional socieities is the best way to show his interest and commitment to advancing the field and the simplest way to connect with the mainstream of the profession. Besides, Malin found that active involvement in professional organizations opened the door for him to demonstrate his leadership skills among his peers at an early stage of his career. Since 2001, he has been the elected Chairman of IEEE Photonics Society and IEEE Electron Devices Society in Victoria Australia. Since 2005, he has served as an elected official of the Engineers Australia IT/EE College in Victoria. In both these organizations, Malin has promoted the electrical engineering profession by organizing numerous technical presentations and professional traning events for practicing engineers. Notably, Malin started two IEEE student branches at The University of Melbourne and at Monash University and ECSE Postgraduate Association at Monash University.
